About the Trainer

01

Anna Bennett, owner and trainer at Alpenglow, grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. While this might have not been the most ideal place to ride horses, she climbed up on her first horse at age 8 and has not looked back since. Anna dabbled in many different disciplines of riding, from 3 day eventing/pony club, to western gaming, to jumpers and dressage. She finally focused her riding on the hunters and jumpers. Anna’s first pony was a welsh cross from central Alaska. She took that fuzzy and out of shape pony from pony club drop-out to multiple Champion Pony Hunters and even qualifying for Pony Finals. In high school, Anna moved up to her first BIG horse and found her love for equitation classes and derbies. She took her horse from 2’6” classes through 3’6” medals and derbies in just a couple years. She was dedicated to becoming the best rider she could and took any opportunity to ride, show, or train any horse she could.

In 2011, Anna was able to purchase her first young horse (a warmblood weanling). It was apparent that this was her passion, raising and training young sport horses. The whole process was both difficult (anyone around a baby horse can attest to this), but also very rewarding. What was supposed to be just a fun project to raise her own horse, turned into what is now Alpenglow Stables with the goal of finding and training more youngsters.

Anna also enjoys spending time with her family (husband and 3 kids).
